but don't irrate it with loads of products. it'll just make it worse.

Reply:a cool compress with a very soft cloth. Take a white cotton t-shirt, soak it in cool water and lightly drape it over your skin. Keep it wet and cool. You have a 2nd degree burn (once you turn red - it's 2nd degree). Call the pharmacy for advice since there are products over the counter to relieve the pain.

There is also a medication that is used for real burn victims called silvadene, but you will need a prescription for it. It works the best. I also lay out alot and my first time in the sun for the start of summer always ends in a burn. Good luck with the pain. I am sure you will look great once the hurting stops.

I was just wondering - what are the odds of rejection or infection on that area of the body?

I don't normally have a lot of luck with piercings as infection is never far away. I had my cartilidge pierced a couple of years ago and that was very risky - and very painful.

I'm presuming belly buttons would be far different as it's all skin, what would you say?

Long-lasting pubic shave?

I was wondering if anyone has any tips on how to get a longer lasting shave, if I shave I have to end up shaving a day or two afterwards and it's getting a bit ridiculous. Any creams I can use or a better razor? I use Venus Gillette and Schick Silk Effects Plus but the Schick just makes my pubic area irritated no matter how fresh the razor is.

Theres nothing you can do about the time between shaving no matter what razor you use, but you can get either laser treament to keep the hair off for a long period of time, or you can even just get waxed. Waxing gets the hair from its root so it takes a little longer for it to grow back.

i have the most disgusting stretch marks all over my hips and thighs. i'm latina with medium brown skin. my strech marks on my butt are bright white and the ones on my "love handle's" are purple. what really pisses me off is that i'm actually pretty skinny, i've always been but i've had these stretch marks since i was 10! please let me know if this cream works or not!

Reply:Just remember, some day you might want a nice job, wear a nice wedding dress, be a mom, etc. Decide wisely on what you get and where you put it. I would recommend a spot where you could show it if you wanted , but would otherwise be concealed. It is always good to have something that means something to you, something significant in your life. I have 3 and they are all related to my family. I have them on my arms because I have a professional job. I couldn't care less what other people think, but you can be judged unfairly. Sorry to sound preachy, but they are there forever, and you could regret an impulsive choice later on. :)

I've had both and for me the cartilage hurt worse than the nose, but it is really different for everyone. I dont know what your school rules are but you should check before you bet anything done. dont to ankle tattoo, it will look stupid, and a lip ring is a bit masculine in my opinion.

I had one on my ankle done when I was at school and it was easy to hide. It also didn't really hurt (that much)

I've also got my nose pierced and it made my eyes water for a while but not all that painfull.

Reply:Nose rings are in thses days. I've got 2 holes in one nostril and it does not hurt. I did the first 1 myself when I was 16 years old and did the second myself when I was 20. I've had them for a while. I also just recently gotten two tatts. One on my right shoulder blade and one on my upper right are. Not to mention I have one on my thigh. No they didn't hurt, but they are very addictive. Once u start with tatts you won't be able to stop. So really think about it. And c if that's something you want to do.

Reply:First of all none of them really hurts, the tattoo can vary from person to person, but i was laughing when i got my ankle tattooed (yes right on the bone too) cause i finds the vibrations from the ink gun tickles. If your doing if out of bordom then i strongly advise you to forget the tattoo, if not you'll regret it later on.

As for piercings, you should consider the aftercare before hand.

nose and cartilage piercings doesn't hurt at all, due to the fact cartilage has no nerves and there's very little skin in both locations, most you feels is just pressure and it's over in a few seconds. the aftercare for these piercings are the same, just keep them clean, you can by a product from your piercing, like dragon mist spray that will help it heal fast and keep it clean, plus help reduce possible sorness fast.

a lip piercing, is similiar, you have to keep the outside clean, and use an alcohol-free mouth wash several times a day, after meals, before bed, and you shouldn't smoke or drink during the healing, but hey i'm not your mother, lol.

the piercings aren't so bad but a tatt is something that should include a bit of thought first, impulsive tattoos are usually regretted.

Also if your worried about not being able to have the piercing in school, then you can always use a retainer after it's healed while your in class. it's clear plastic jewelry that's available for all piercings, and it's really hard to see unless they know you have the piercing and is looking for it.

* cartilage piercing: these hurt me-- if you go get your ears pierced- especially your cartilage- go to an actual piercing place where you'd have it done by a professional and with a needle... if you go to a piercing place in the mall- where they use the piercing guns- those destroy (break) your cartilage and make for a slower healing process and more painful.. I have 10 in each ear- and its taking FOREVER for my latest 2 cartilage (the very top of my ear) to heal- and I had them all done at piercing pagodas in the mall- no fun there for me.

*I don't personally have the ankle tattoo but I have one on my foot and on my hips-- tattoos aren't as bad as people make them out to be-- believe me

* lip ring: I have my labret pierced (middle, right above chin- except I have mine up higher- closer to the bottom of my lower lip)... this one I didn't feel more than a pinch-- doesn't hurt... and mine is easily hidden by my lower lip-- but I had it pierced that way on purpose.

I love my labret- but a lot of people are getting them nowadays- so I guess it goes with the whole most popular part... but I didn't get my piercings because I wanted to have a popular piercing- I got it because I've always wanted it....

By the way-- Your going to have to wait until your 18 to get any of this stuff done, every where you go-- your going to have to be 18 or have a parent or legal guardian sign for you

I have one, and it's not that bad. It's about the same as getting your belly pierced, to me. It'll have a burning, dull achy pain right after like any other piercing does, but because this is different tissue and it's a deeper piercing, it requires you to be very cautious of keeping it clean. If you smoke, eat, or drink, you HAVE to swish around listerine in your mouth to prevent it from getting infected.

hi i got a tattoo yesterday and the guy gave me some weird aftercare instructions, he told me to wash with neutral soap every four hours, but to continue wrapping it in plastic for three days. This morning the tattoo was a sweaty mess and i was worried about infection, so i bought some antibiotic cream, planning to treat it like i had done for my other tattoos. I couldnt get A%26amp;D (im in ecuador), so bought something called Dermizol G which is a betametasone and gentamicin. I applied a thin layer, and no plastic wrap. now it all red. i washed it off, but dont know what to do now. should i just leave it, even though it will dry out? should i get a diaper rash cream, similar to A%26amp;D? Thank you in advance for your help, smart *** answers get out. Thank you.

(STUPID A** SHOULD NEVER have told you to use plastic wrap on it - especially for three days....GRRRRRRRRR - I want to wrap their ^%26amp;%%# in plastic wrap!!)
Reply:Personally, I would leave it. The reaction sounds vaguely like an mild allergic one - not too uncommon. At this point, one day later, the skin should be pretty much sealed off via normal healing and you just need to keep it clean and lightly moisturized. Try to avoid doing much with the area and the heat too, which might be tricky that close to the equator.

This assumes the area is just reddened; I get a similar reaction if I use too much tri-biotic on a cut. If you get serious swelling, extreme sensitivity, streaks or pus... then check with the doctor.

Addendum: Tatt_brat's advice is best %26amp; simplest. Stick with that.
Reply:I'll tell you what my tattoo artist has told me...funky things happen with tattoos, the best thing to do is nothing at all. Just wash it a couple of times a day with unscented antibacterial soap and leave it alone. Just let your body heal on it's own.

It does sound like you got some bad aftercare instructions, but I think if you leave it to heal you should be fine.

I'd say try to let your tattoo dry out a bit- and if it doesn't get even the slightest bit better in about 2-3 days -- try to get something like A%26amp;D-- or put a VERY LIGHT layer of something like neosporin on it to help it heal and get rid of the infection... if that doesn't work- then I'd say-- make a call to your doctor!!

I've been a lot of research on breast implants, im thinkin about getting my breast done in the next year. Im a smalled framed person. 5ft3in, 121pounds. I've even talked to a couple of people and surgeons about the procedure. I know that there are risks but we take risks everyday. Im not trying to get to get anything to big. So if there is any1 outh there that can give me advice plz I will be more than happy to hear it. I had mine done 2006 and love them! So far, I haven't had any problems. I had a very good cosmetic surgeon who had me get a lot of tests prior to the operation. I wanted them bigger but he said if your pockets are small. . . don't stuff them because they won't look natural and he was absolutely right. They look very natural and I'm happy with them. I don't get it--I apply it, reapply it and then reapply the stuff again, but 50 SPF isn't working for me. I can't go out in the sun for half an hour without getting a terrible burn!

sun blockers don't protect you from sunburn, only UV rays.

Try tanning gradually, 30 minutes a day in the sun until you are brown and then you can spend as much time in the sun as you wish

You need to be applying liquid sunscreen, at least an ounce for your whole body, every 45 minutes.

Make sure the sunscreen is made for playing sports- that way it can handle the moisture if you sweat.

You also need to get a high SPF sunscreen. Getting 60 or higher should work better.

A licensed professional body piercer should have jewelry autoclaved in the size you choose. Either 14G or 16G can be used for this piercing. These can be stretched from 16G to 14G by a piercer, or you can downsize from a 14G to a 16G. Labret studs are fine. Guys here really like spiked ones, especially for this piercing. Rings look cool too, and they are very easy to keep clean. Be sure your piercer is reputable, licensed, trained, bloodborne pathogens certified, and autoclaves all instruments touching you. They should also be able to provide you with both verbal and written aftercare to take home to help you care for your piercing. If they cannot do all of this, please walk out and find someone who can. Helpful hints--use ice packs a few times daily after the piercing for a couple days. Take Alieve, Motrin, or Tylenol for pain and swelling. This is not a painful piercing, however if it swells it can be. Lots of rinsing and soaking with sea salt as well. Good luck! I won't tell you not to do it %26amp; I am surely not wasting my time!!! I will tell you if anyone does this without parental consent they are breaking the law. If they are willing to break the law for a few bucks, I am sure they would have no problem using dirty needles and equipment to pierce you with. You can contract Hepatitis, HIV, etc...Look up MRSA on the Internet. It CAN kill you. If you are willing to risk you life go ahead-I wish you wouldn't. Also, these take 9-12 months to heal. If you are going to be irresponsible on how you get it pierced, you surely will be irresponsible with the aftercare...The biggest part is sea salt soaks 4-6 times a day for a minimum of 4 months up 12 months. Bad freaky things DO happen!!! You only live once. Be safe and make only smart choices.

If your mom doesn't want you to do it, just wait. I did it myself when I was 14. i had it for a month or two, but then my body reject the piercing and pushed the ring i had in out. It was super gross! there was puss and oooz everywhere. It was so infected, and i HAD to tell my mom. She was livid and took me to the doctors immediately. It healed, and i'm fine now, but i had so much scar tissue build up (which is permenent around the navel), and had to get the bottom of my navel pierced when i went and got a done a year ago (at age 19).

Your skin under your eyes has a thinner tissue than the rest of your face. So, some people have thinner tissue than others, which results in more "bags" as they call it. But it is actually just more blood flow causing the purple. You are only 13 so I would honestly not worry about it. If you are that worried, just buy a some cover up, covergirl or revlon, and it can temporarily fix the problem. I have had this problem my whole life, I started to using Hylexin, but you are to young for that.

No. I have freckles and tan in a tanning bed. Yes my freckeles have increased but so has my tan. Now that I am darker they are less noticeable. Just remember to keep your skin moist and don't over do it.

Spray Tanning is the best and safest way to tan; plus, they last longer. Basically, you just go into this room where you change out of your clothes and put an eye mask and shower cap on (so your hair and eyes don't get sprayed) and you walk into this machine-thing with spray nozzles all around it. You press a button and it sprays for about 30 seconds, then you turn around and it sprays again. After you get out, make sure you even out the spray with a towel by rubbing it in to make sure you don't get streaks. It works like a charm! :) Hope I helped.

Reply:I have tried them twice and had bad experences both times. There were several missed areas, uneven, and stained my clothes. You would be better to get a real tan in a tanning bed. If you tan in a bed just take it slow 2-3 mins three days a week. Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. If you do not burn you can up your minutes until you reach the 20 max. Happy Tanning;-)

Reply:I don't believe nose rings are boring, they can actually look really quite cute depending on your facial features and so on. They can either add to someone's look or go against someone's look though, so you really have to be positive it'll look good on you. If your not completely sure that you want a nose ring and your sure that you'd be happier with a lip piercing, then I'd go for the lip piercing. I would explain to your parents/parent that you've been putting a lot of thought into it and that you've decided a lip piercing is more your style or more for you. If they say no, then accept their answer- their your parents/parent and when they feel respected they'll be more lenient and possibly later change their minds once they realize how calmly you reacted to their response. Just be sure to explain to them that your willing to work for the piercing and that'll show them that your committed and it's something you really want, sometimes telling them this in words won't work... so show them you want it through your actions ;) Best of luck!
Reply:All of my friends have nose rings, and a couple have lip rings. I don't like facial piercings because i think they're distracting. Do you really want people staring at your nose or lip instead of your lovely face?

Of the 2, I'd say go with the nose. It's less conspicuous, and a little more "exotic" looking (I know it's popular in India). The lip thing just looks weird.

It shouldn't hurt too much if it is already healed. That type of ring is veryy suitable for lips and looks neat cuz you don't have that giant ball hanging out one side of your mouth. Just make sure you clean it regularly just like you would with any other piercing. Sometimes it can be hard for one person to put it in by themselves try having someone that trust help you get it in for the first time. It might take you a while to get used to changing it and cleaning it yourself.

1. Changing jewelery will not hurt at all provided that it is healed. Once your piercing is healed, you can do all kinds of things with it and it doesn't hurt one bit.

2. Putting the jewelery in is not a problem. I always found it more comfortable to put it from the side of inside the mouth towards the outside. Living with your piercing is the same as living without it, except you get the stares and stupid questions plus you look fabulous.

3. I think you ordered a good size, but to be honest, your piercer shoud have given you all the sizes after piercing. My lips are not very full and the piercing right below the lip so I used to wear 8mm diameter.

I'm sure you look cool.
Reply:16 sounds good for a first timer. It doesn't hurt if it's adequately healed. Use Bactine to clean it. It has a numbing agent, plus it cleans it. Just make sure you put the new ring in right after you take the stud out. It will probably start to close up right away. It took a few years before I could leave mine out over night and not have to force it through the next day. Make sure you sterilize the ring first. Good luck.
Reply:You should let your piercer change your jewelry. This will provide a sterile environment, and cause you less pain and hassle of doing it yourself. Segment rings sometimes can be tricky. Same as captive bead rings if you don't have the tools. Good luck getting it in. I have a hard enough time putting beads the rings I have in my own ears %26amp; I have the tools! I have to have them installed. Let your piercer install this or you can check into horseshoes that have balls on both ends. It's easy to take in %26amp; out. They have them in blue titanium too! Well if your lip is fully healed then it shouldn't be painful at all, unless you're having difficulty getting the jewelry in. Then it might be a little bit sore afterwards and sting slightly if you try to shove the jewelry in.

They're pretty tricky to get on but once theyre in, it's perfectly fine. But it is different than a labret stud. If the segment ring is too long then the ring will constantly be getting in the way when you go to eat. So make sure you get the right size

3- my piercing is quite low down and i have quite full lips so i orders it 12mm diameter, 16 gauge, does this sound about suitable?

I tan really easily, and skin cancer is common on my mother's side of the family. i put on sunscreen alot when im outside like at the pool or something. And it seems whenever i go swimming, these little moles randomly pop up on my chest. Is it anything dangerous? i've heard that anyone who has over 30 moles is at risk for skin cancer or something... Is it something I should be worried about?

Any mole can be cancerous, if a mole appears or changes in any way go straight to a dermatologist.

Generally cancer itself is a precaution. Definitely keep an eye on it and make consistent visits for screenings because it is in your genes.

However, moles are common amongst everyone. The average person can have up to 20-100 moles and as they get closer to the age of 20, they will have about all of the moles that will appear throughout their lifetime. Keep in mind that any irregularity in shape, size, color, texture, or anything that seems at all suspicious, should be looked at; especially in your case. On the other hand, if you're below 20 years old, I wouldn't be as worried about it because your skin is still developing.

Either way, I would still do screenings and check ups every now and then. Good luck. =]
Reply:My personal experience and knowledge of skin cancer, if the mole is the same isometrically not a concern. Irregular shape, forms a scab then appears to heal then returns get it checked out, if also doesn't hurt to map out the moles on your body, keep track of location, any changes and measure the size.

I use 30 spf sunscreen which is on the weaker side of protection, there are so many available today there is really not excuse to not use them all the time, not just when you know you will be out in the sun.

I don't think skin gets immune, maybe just a hair tougher but not immune. The human body does have a habit of adapting but not enough to completely nix effects of something like the sun.

well are those like bags and like kinda puffy? if soo... then what i do is get 2 black tea bags, boil them in water (enjoy if you want), then take them out, but squeeze em a little so ther not soaking wet and put them over ur eyes for like 5 minutes or until ther not hot/warm anymore. then put them in the freezer for like 10 minutes or until they're cold. then put them over your eyes for 10 minutes. hopefully this helped!

bellybuttons and eyebrows naturally reject piercings, some people it wont work its way out some people they do, like for me my eyebrows always work there way out but yet my belly piercings stay. If you want to get it pierced you can but every time they pierce it it will more then most times work its way out but you might be lucky and it might stick. its your choice, and with the belly going thru scar tissue doesn't hurt at all.....good luck with whatever you choose

The same thing happened with my eyebrow at least 4+ times. Rather than letting it rip all the way out and creating even more of a scar than I already had, I just took it out and gave up. Some people's skin is just like that for some reason. I wouldn't try it again, chances are your skin will reject it again and it will just scar more.

Reply:Even though most people are well-suited for a navel piercing, lots of people find that their belly button piercings reject; sometimes, this is the fault of the piercer (no, really!) using incorrect jewelry or incorrect placement, or simply not advising the client how to properly care for a navel piercing. Usually, though, rejection is preventable by taking good care of the piercing and making sure that the area doesn't receive any unnecessary trauma (i.e. restrictive clothing, etc.).

A small percentage of people, however, simply are NOT suited for navel piercings. I recommend that you research piercers in your area and visit a very experienced piercer with a good reputation. Ask this piercer for advice; normally, he or she will be able to tell by looking at your navel region whether or not you are suited to this piercing, and if you should attempt to get it again.

Reply:Well your piercing keeps rejecting.

Go to a really good piercer who has lots of experience with navel piercings.

Have him pierce it just slightly deeper so it will be harder for it to reject.

Also make sure you take care of it properly afterwards.
Reply:Was the piercing done with a tapered needle or a gun? Did the piercer check your skin thickness to match it to the appliance? If not, it's not your fault. My piercing artist won't do a piercing unless he feels conditions are perfect. He wouldn't re-pierce a scarred area.

Sounds like your post-piercing instructions were crap. Get an eyebrow (love em), nose ( I miss mine, had to take it out for an MRI), all over the ears and even the lips! Then you won't be taking a chance.

NO tattoo parlor piercers. No guns, needles only. If the post-piercing care lesson doesn't take longer than the piercing, they're not doing a good job.

Reply:DEFINITELY NOT! Toothpaste is harmful to your skin whether it is a pimple or not. Toothpaste is meant for teeth so the chemicals and substances in it are not designed to heal a pimple. In fact, it can irritate it; and even lead to scarring because it has fluoride and sodium. Sodium can dry out your skin, but it will most likely irritate it as well.

Best way to get rid of a pimple is by leaving it alone, and applying a cream. I would recommend Neutrogena's Acne Eliminating Gel that costs around $5 dollars. Pimples on average take 2 days or even weeks to heal and disappear completely, so patience is key.

Reply:If you have to go swimming, make sure you rinse it afterwards and then do a salt-water soak... the piercer should have told you this already?!

To do a salt-water soak:

Mix in a glass 1tsp salt with warm water (make sure it all dissolves)

Then carefully, so you don't spill it all over you, lean the glass back over you bellybutton so it forms a seal around it and the water covers your bellybutton - its best to do this where you can lie down as you need to leave it to soak for about 5 - 10 mins.

This works too if your bellybutton is infected, but if you've just had it pierced you should be doing a salt-water soak twice a day to help clean it and to help it heal...I can't believe the piercer never told you about this!
Reply:in the ocean you will be OK cuz of the sea salt but avoid lakes, creeks, and chlorinated pools for at least a month, cuz if you don't the inside skin will start to come out over your ring and look really messed up, or get infected and puss up and if you remove it during this time even to clean it, it won't go back in. my former sister in law is a piercer, she has seen it all when it comes to what not to dos
Reply:Well your piercing might get slightly irritated from the chlorine if youre swimming in a pool.

But as soon as you get out of the water, wash the area with unscented, anti-bacterial soap. Then mix 1/4 teaspoon non-iodized sea salt with 8 oz. distilled water and soak the navel in that for 3-5 minutes. You could also substitute the sea salt soak with H2Ocean spray.

Reply:If you want something really different, do NOT refer to any online site - if you've seen it, so have 200000 other people. Your best bet is to ask around and find a really good tattoo artist (look at portfolios and ASK QUESTIONS - make sure you have a real artist who will be able to draw a good design, not just someone who can apply tattoos!), give them your ideas, and ask them to come up with something unique. No doubt you'll be much happier with this than with some stock design. Remember, if the tattooist creates a design you don't like, ask them to rework it. And don't be afraid to go to a different artist if need be!

1. the skin will be romoved, and it will be like a burn, but it will heal fine, and no scaring

2. the color is only lasered out, but the clear outline will still be there, barely visible.

I know having a tattoo removed is very painful and also expensive. It would also be pretty hard to cover something of that size unless you want a huge eagle on your chest. Eagles work good for cover ups, but it would have to be huge. I would just recommend going to a professional and asking him/her to finish it. I would try to find some way to cover it. Nope i think that would actually be real cute. I've seen people with all sorts of sleeves...some have Super Mario themed sleeves, Hello Kitty Sleeves and other stuff like that. I myself have a Picasso themed sleeve and i love it. Just make sure it's what u want and something you're passionate about tho coz it's hard to change your mind and cover up a whole sleeve lol. The best time to shave your legs is in the shower because the steam helps open up your pores and it softens your hair follicles. So after you wash your hair, body, etc... Use Gillette Venus shaving cream. After you are done shaving, apply some moisturizing lotion to your legs while your legs are still damp. Reply:go see your dermatologist. if you don't have one go look for one, usually around $80 or so for a first visit but they can give you a prescription for awesome cream to heal your dry skin, mine gave me some samples even to try it first, then i bought the prescription and she told me to use head and shoulders shampoo as a body wash for a few days (seriously) it is so cold though =) and then use aquaphor healing lotion, but warning use it at night it is so greasy but works wonders especially on your feet if you cover your feet with socks through the night.

1) baby oil really does work. It fixes the dry legs problem, but I also noticed it sticks to my sweatpants and feels a little too oily for my liking, so I like also using....

I rub it all over my legs and It makes them silky and smooth, and it drys soft so my legs aren't oily, they're nice :) and I don't now about anyone else, but shaving my legs almost completely wipes out the tan in them too, so putting this on after I shave adds a little bit of nice color too.

Reply:If you're talking about your underARM- thats never going to get as tan as the top, thats just how it goes. It's like your hand and palms. Their two different shades. If you're talking about your armPITS, thats a problem too, and I have the same one. When I'm in the tanning bed whenever theres like 5 minutes left, or leaving soon from the beach..wherever I am, put my arms behind my head in like the relaxing position to get an equal tan on them as well so it doesn't look too weird.

Reply:Have you tried using those stick on bras? It's called like Nubra and they have cheaper knock offs that work just the same that you can get at like Target. They are silicone stick on bras that increase a cup size or so depending on the thickness you want and since they stick and have a front closure, you can totally hike up the girls and smoosh em together for more cleavage effect (although you probably dont need help in the cleavage department lol)! Plus if you guys get a lil frisky it wouldn't be as embarassing as being caught with tissues and bra inserts.

never heard of a tablet, but i have heard of a cream...hydroquinone...its in fade creams, stronger ones can be obtained from your dermatologist.

Well this might not be what you had in mind, but crushing up vitamin C tablets and mixing with a little water to form a paste then applying it to the parts of the skin you want to lighten works quite well. Vitamin C inhibits melanin production.

Well, for example take a look at your forearm. The top part is darker than the bottom right? The bottom of the forearm is your original skin color.

This is my problem folks, i have a farmers tan, and i burn easily in the sun. My neck and forearms, and my legs are starting, too. They're tan and everything else is a fair white. I heard tans fade away, is this true?

If i go outside when the sun is out should i wear sunblock and long sleeve shirts and pants? I am trying to stay indoors as much as possible and away from sunlight so my skin can heal and can turn white again.

well my question is, How long will it take for my skin to be back to its normal color and what can i do/use to help it heal faster?

p.s. i have nothing against different colored races, its just that fair whitish pale looks better on me. LOLS. i have gold blonde hair and green-grey eyes, what do you expect? -_-

know the feeling. i feel better with a tan, but photos prove, i look funny with one. sunscreen and a good one will help...reapply often during the day...use a baby sunblock as it will be stronger. and fade cream with hydroquinone in it on the dark areas before you go to bed will help lighten them up.
Reply:Yes your skin should gradually get lighter. Once on a camp the only part of my skin showing was my fingertips and they got slightly tanned (eep), it took a few months for it to fade completely. Just use the highest spf sunblock you can and you should be fine. Drinking plenty of water and having adequete vitamin C and E in your diet should help too. Remember, if you're outdoors the shade is your friend.

Boils are usually a staph infection, you should take the child to the doctor ASAP. Boils on the face can spread to the sinus cavity and cause meningitis or other permanent damage and even death if not treated immediately.

I had large lumps in and around my arm pits when I was in college... they would get big and red and painful, and then eventually "burst" and puss and blood would ooze out for about 24 hours or so, and then it would be fine and heal up... but then another one would come. He said they were infectious cysts and gave me antibiotics and (Thank God) I haven't had any since.

Lots of other skin anomolies can look like this though... in any case, if they are red and filled with puss, you can almost GUARANTEE they are painful... so take your baby to the pediatrician ASAP so you can begin treatment and stop the pain as fast as possible.

Reply:Use an exfoliant, buffing cream, some kind of grainy cleanser that will remove the dead layers of skin that are dyed.
Reply:basically, like everyone has said, is to have a nice warm bath, and bathe in it, for about 30 mins/ an hour.. and that then allows your sking to soak in the moisture.

you can then also, if it doesnt ware away, you could also try exfoliating.

it works in a way that it takes all the dry/dead skin cells off the top of you skin, and makes room for the new ones to have time to be on your body, before you commence the cycle again.

just allow it time to fade, if that ^ ^ ^ ^ doesnt work.

it also depends on where abouts on your body it is- if its your legs, thats easy to hide, and let it fade.

its its your arms... its a bit trickier as its may be warm, so you'd need short sleeves.

if not.. just keep moisturising( this also lets all the moisture soak into your body)

I had a small shamrock, a harp, and the word Eire done on my foot in Ireland last summer. I think I paid somewhere around 100 in U.S. DOLLARS (I forget what the EURO exchange rate was. I can't imagine that what you want will cost too much more. I think tattoo artists determine the price of your tattoo by its size and how intricate or detailed it is--all factors related to the time they will have to invest to complete the work. I think there is also an extra charge for the amount of colors you use. Also...factor in the needle(s) and the prep work. Here's an example...I got a teeny tiny tattoo that is completely hidden by my wedding ring. I got it in Sacramento, California (USA)--I paid 60 bucks for that several years ago. The one on my foot is several times larger but cost-wise wasn't comparatively more expensive. I don't think what you want will break your bank. Go to a few of your local body art shops and look through some pictures or design something that suits you. Then just ask the artist. Good Luck!

sooo i was one of those people who were born with a short tongue.. unluckily for me. an iv wanted my tongue pierced since i was like 15. im 18 now.. but anyway.. i keep hearing the length of your tongue has to be like an inch long from the webbing or whatever.. but i tried mesuring.. an from the webbing my tongue is only like 12 or 13 mm long.... so yeah.. im guessing thats not long enough.. but i dont know.. so im asking you people.. any help would be heaps nice :)

I have a "short" tongue too! haha. And I have my tongue pierced. I had it pierced a little further back then normal because I am a woodwind/ brass musician, and obviously need my tongue to play and couldn't have it interfering with that.

But a piercer will be able to tell you for sure. It also goes by the veins underneath your tongue- if they are large and "spider webbish" you might not be able to get it. I have that issue too, and couldn't get the Venom, which I really wanted- but was able to get just a single traditional tongue piercing.

Since yours is shorter, the piercer might have to pierce it slightly off center but it will still look really good.

It just depends on where the tongue web falls under your tongue.

But you can still get a tongue piercing if you want.

I am a bartender at an outdoor lounge in sunny Southern California. During the afternoon, I work shirtless then when it turns to evening 2/3s of the way through my shift, I tend to throw on a shirt. My problem is I have yet to find a sunscreen that I can apply during the day in the sun that I can then throw a shirt on when it gets dark without it stinking up the shirt or making it all greasy. I have to launder my shirts every night because of this. I have tried many different "light" sunscreens yet they are all too oily and shiny still. Even Neutregena's "Ultra Mist" which claims to be ultra light and weightless, leaves a thick shiny layer on my skin that looks like I oiled myself during the day and then at night makes me feel gross to throw a shirt over. I am hoping for a solution that is reasonably priced since I go through one of those sunscreen bottles every week and a half so it would get very expensive quickly. It also needs to be non-comedogenic as I break out easily.
What body sunscreen is best to wear under clothing and is non-oily? Something to go from day to night?

Ok i am going on this cruise this summer and i am 14, and i wanted to look good. And my skin just wont tan naturally so i thought about getting a spray tan. But i wanted to know if it looks natural or if it makes you look orange. if it matters i have red hair and freckles. please help me.

Spray tans all look silly. Please don't humiliate yourself like this.

The fact of the matter is that tans are just signs of radiation damage.

If you're fourteen with red hair and freckles, it's safe to guess that (a) you sunburn easily and (b) you're beautiful just as you are.

In that case, just bring some sunscreen and enjoy the cruise in your own skin. You'll be happy and you'll look great, I promise.
Reply:Hey. Spray tans can look really good or really really bad. If they are orange, patchy, spotty or different colours it can look really dodge. What you need to do is get it done professionally. The ones in the cans are hard to do yourself and you have more of a chance in it turning out bad if you do it yourself. Go to somewhere they spray it on you. You need to get one that is pink based. That way no matter what it won't turn out orange. Because you have red hair and pale skin you should get a medium or light tan and obviously not the darkest shade it comes in. When you go to get your spray tan either wax, or shave you legs the day before. If you shave your legs the same day as your spray tan, the tan will go into your hair follicles and it will have these spray tan tiny dots all over your legs. Also exfoliate your skin as much as you can. Also some spray tans react with under arm deodorant...and makes it turn green. So also don't wear deodorant when you get your spray tan. Also you shouldn't shower for 12 hours after your spray tan, because it won't be completely set into your skin. I'd get the spray tan 2 days before your trip. Even though you are pale i'd get medium tan. It will look dark, but the next day it will settle into your skin more and fade more by the time you go on your trip. And when you have a shower moisterize your skin afterwoods and to dry your skin, pat dry it with a towel to avoid wiping off your tan. If you follow all these tips your tan should look natural and great!
Reply:well red hair and freckles is fine without a tan! i dont spray tan because i dont need one, but my friends do. You can totally tell they did because they're sooo orange! If you do decide to get a spray tan, make sure not to make them turn you orange! I don't think you need to though! You're fine the way you are!

But if you do want to get a tan, try the naturally tanning lotions. Those tend to work better. Besides, you're going to get a tan probably on the cruise anyway!

Reply:For a good complexion wash your face everyday 3 times with clear soap. This is a must. Add 2eggs, thick curd, cucumber extracts to a little water and plain flour. Mix it well until paste. I am in my 20's and lately my skin has been freaking out on me. I am having breakouts more frequently and my pores seem bigger. I have tried a few different products and nothing seems to help. Does anyone have any suggestions for a simple regiment that keeps skin clear and healthy? I have already tried Cetaphil, Neutrogena, Aveeno and Olay. I think I am looking for something a bit more expensive like Clinique or something similar. I have combination skin, oily then dry after cleansing. I just want something that works!

try a simple soap (like Dove or Ivory ) and water. use your clean fingers in applying soap and do not scrub like crazy!!! rinse very well.

and try to eat a lot of fruits and veggies(to have antioxidants).

and be sure to sleep enough.

and drink lots of water to keep skin hydrated.

Stay out of the sun if you can!

DO NOT USE SOAP ON YOUR FACE, THAT IS SO SO SO BAD! Stuff from mass department stores usually donot work! As a matter of fact it worsens your skin condition. I recommend trying cosmetology skin care regimens such powerful names like ProActiv and Merle Norman Cosmetics. The only problem with ProActiv is that your skin gets immune to it and after time it no longer works for you. Your skin also dries terribly with that instant working then not working crap. IT HAS SULFUR IN IT...EEW! Now with Merle Norman Cosmetics they have an acne line that comes with a cleanser, toner, moisturizer, and spot remover all with a very safe active ingrediant. This product will not and I mean it, it will not dry you skin! They also sell a cleanser called Skin Refining Cleanser with contains polybeads that help to clean out pores for oily skin and remove dead skin cells of dry skin!

Reply:I have combination skin as well and i have tried almost EVERY DAMN PRODUCT and it made it worse. I've tried from drug store brands right through to Clinique 3 step program. The drug store products were too heavy for me (the creamy ones like St. Ives) and Clinique 3step was great for a month and then my face started breaking out and turning greasy YUK!. Anyway i ditched all that and i got myself a Neutrogena skin clearing cleanser (a foaming one because I've found they're the best for my combination skin - hence not too heavy). I wash my face with water ONLY in the morning and i do my cleansing at NIGHT and it's made a big difference because i used to cleanse twice a day and my face went flaky. I also got a MAC Micro refinisher which i use every 2-3rd day to massage my face and it gets rid of my blackheads. You can also make a face scrub at home which is good because it's all natural products and not toxic/chemical ones.

Just mix honey and brown sugar and it's an instant exfoliant :)) Good Luck.

EDIT: I really really hope women all over wake up one day and realize that all these cleansers and toners and moisturizers that claim to do wonders are only making it worse. Seriously, think about it, back in the days people didn't have all these fancy smancy products and their skin was clear because they used home made, basic products. And frankly, why use a product where you can't even pronounce half of it's ingredients?

Reply:get some hydroquinone, its in most fade creams, use a qtip to put it just on the dark spots as if it gets on the area around it then they will lighten to and can make it appear worse, after a few days they should appear lighter.

yaz is supposed to clear your skin, did wonders for mine. call your doc, the face is the body's most sensitive area so it would react first and worst. you might be allergic to yaz but fine on another type of pill. please follow through with this, you can do permanent damage continuing to medicate with something you're allergic too, and if it turns out to be nothing then hurray!

no, and no neosporin, they can dull the color. use bacitrine, or plain old vasaline or tattoo goo.

Reply:I'm covered in tatts, from the 70's %26amp; 80's. We never had cream then, we used methylated spirits. It stung but the tatts healed quick.

I'm trying to clear up my skin and get rid of my hyper skinpigmentation. I came up with a skin care regime but I don't know if I'm doing to much.

I plan to do a 15 % salicylic acid peel every ten days.

I also intend to use a serum that consists of 15% Glycolic Acid and 50% Hyaluronic Acid mix .

During the day I will apply mandelic acid.

Treatment of acne scarring ranges from simple skin creams to laser treatment, skin graft, and painful dermabrasion . Filling agents are also used to remove acne scars. Most filling agents are temporary, like collagen. For deep ice-pick scars the useful treatment is to cut them and replace them with skin graft taken from behind the ear. This technique is called ipunch grafting. Dermabrasion is almost the reverse of the cutting down technique because the normal skin is cut down to bring the acne scar to a lower level. This way, the scar remains the same but the level of rest of the skin changes, making them shallower and removing shadows. It gives skin a smoother surface.

You have to NOT TOUCH IT for a long time. True story: I had plucked a hair from the inside of my nose, it came back ingrown, and ended up coming out the other side backwards!
Reply:The best thing you can do right now is to just leave it alone. Then in the morning, take a look and see if you can see the little dot of where the hair is, and if you can get a pair of really sharp pointy tweezers and try to pull it out. You can also try pushing (gently) with your fingers around the area to encourage the hair to come out so that you can pluck it.

But if it isn't cooperating, then you just have to wait another day to see how it is and then try again. In the meantime, if it looks inflamed, you might want to consider putting some neosporin on it.
Reply:Let it heal (the crater you dug, that is). It should take a week, but you don't want to make it any deeper, cause brusing or worse yet a tremendous scab. This will only make it more noticeable. After it heals, use a hot wash cloth and hold it on the affected area. This will open your pore better and may even draw the hair upwards closer to the surface of the skin. See if you can get some tweezers and try to pull the hair out that way. You sure it's an ingrown hair? Not a blackhead or something? If the washcloth/tweezer thing doesn't work, see a dermatologist.
Reply:If you can't resist or are following the advice of others above, please please please make sure you have absolutely STERILE tools you're working with and clean the skin well with alcohol and your hands must be washed well.

Regardless of who's advice you are following... make sure that you are washing and drying your face with a fresh towel every time to reduce the transfer of bacteria/fungus.

Please though, you need to stop picking at your face.

If you just can't resist, cover it with a bandaid and allow it to heal over and at your earliest opertunity head to the doctor and have them remove the ingrown hair.

Its probably in your best interests to go to a doctor soon, especially if you have red streaks coming out from around the sore you have an infection and need an antibiotic in an oral or ointment form.

I had a terrible problem with folliculitis (ingrown hairs that become infected) on my leg. It took almost a year to heal and it hurt so bad and now my leg is scarred. If this is in fact folliculitis, and you continue to pick you're going to spread the bacteria/fungus to other hair follicles on your face and maybe body.

Reply:Wow. That's a good idea! What you can do is find a good tattoo parlour, tell them your ideas, or draw it out. That way, the tattooist are able to visualise what you want and how you want it exactly.

I think the problem with tattoos nowadays is not about the design itself anymore, its more on how we want it to be exactly, without the tattooist getting confused or getting the wrong ideas about what we want to get.

If you are able to relate the design to him well and in details. I think any tattoos would turn up just fine, or at least, you left the parlour with no regrets.

Tattoos is about expressing yourself and making a statement out of yourself. It is a beautiful thing. And especially if its related to your careers, that just shows how passionate you are towards it.

I need opinions on tattoo goo. If you have used it, or heard bad or good things about it. Is it better or worse than plain old lotion... ?

I think you really just pay for the name. For a tattoo all you really need is bacitracin or triple antibiotic ointment.

I've had the oportunity to use both and I'd go with the goo anytime. You see, lotion is messy and combersome. As for Goo, a little goes a long way and is easy to carry with you.

I've had the same tin for 3 different tatoos and still have some left for another.

We have tried the Tattoo Goo and A%26amp;D ointment is the best thing we have found to use while healing a tattoo. Since you are a slow healer I would allow extra time for a tattoo to heal. Usually a tattoo heals in between 2 to 3 weeks. My husband has been a professional tattoo artist for 21 years this year. I am also very heavily tattooed and I usually heal in between 2 to 3 weeks. However if you seem to be having problems I waould go back to my tattoo artist and show him/her and see what he/she has to say. I hope this helps. Good Luck !

I will say about 2 weeks. I have 4 of them, including a HUGE Dragon on my upper left thigh (about 6x5 in) and a big tribal on my lower back, and they healed pretty fast and without any complications.

Tattoos usually take about 30 days to completely heal.

It will scab up quite a bit, maybe more for you since you scab easily.

But just remember to clean it as you're supposed to and DO NOT pick the scabs.

It will ruin your tattoo.
Reply:my star which is about the size of a quarter took about a week, to stop scabbing but I kept using the tattoo gel stuff for like 3 weeks. it was my first one, and im a slow healer too, and scab too I was really careful with it

then my other one which is bigger took about two weeks to stop scabbing and I got it done in summer so I was very careful with not having it exposed in sun and such.

best is to just go with how your body goes, and dont rush it

After nursing my daughter for 10 months, my breast really took a fall for the south. My ob/gyn told me it would take about a year until they turn back to near normal position because I'm young. But it doesn't look like it's been improving. Is there any way to enhance my breasts to get them back perky again? Besides Surgery?

I ordered this exercise thing on tv its called EASY CURVES.... It worked for me... and it made my boobies a couple inches bigger... you use it everyday for five minutes... it cost me about 15 dollars... dont get all the vitamis that come with it... They don't work and they are expensive! Goodluck!

I went to the tanning salon the other day. I am fair skinned and have not tanned at all this year. So the young lady there suggested I only go for 6 min. Well after I left, and settle at home for the day I noticed my back was red!!! It doesn't hurt and has already started to fade alittle (since its the following day). It wasn't a bad burn but it is burned none the less. I have unlimited tanning for the next month and want to use it and get my moneys worth also I am in a wedding in about 2 and 1/2 weeks. I don't need to be dark. Just not blindingly white. Also I want to avoid burning and peeling that might come. Any advice on dealing with how often and how long to go? Also I usually just lie still in the bed. My friends told me it is best to move around. Any truth to that. Thanks for any advice you can give.

hmm i would wait around a week give or take.

as you say your fair skinned, and after 1 session you wouldnt have got that much more tanned so iff you go on it again u may run the risk of burning again over your already burnt%26amp;sensitive skin.

Don't go tanning again until the pink color is gone. I don't believe that there is any truth to the comment about moving around while you're tanning. Make sure you're using a good lotion while you're tanning (ask your tanning consultant at your salon to recommend one that would be good for your needs) and also moisturize well when you get out of the shower every day to prevent your skin from drying out even further.

well i think it depends on how big the ring is and how long u leave it in.. It does leave a hole if u wear it for awhile. But how big the ring is, makes up however big the hole is.

Snakebites are usually 14g or 16g... which is tiny. They may leave a tiny dent, but it would be really unnoticeable unless someone was staring at your lip.

Iv'e bitten my nails since i was a kid and it never really bothered me until now! I would love to paint my nails and everything but i can't because i have none! SOmeone please give me some tips on how to stop biting its a horrible habit!

Only you can stop you biting your nails. I bit mine for years until I saw a photo of a hand model in a handcream commercial. I looked at my hands and thought it looked disgusting so wanted to have nails like the hand model. After a few slips here and there I do now have better nails than her! Reply:vI bit my nails for as long as I can remember! Then one year for my birthday, my daughter paid for me to have false nails done at a salon! I had them done and they looked gorgeous it only cost about 拢30. I wasn't able to bite them as they were so hard and not only that they looked that lovely I didn't want to bite them! I went back to the salon once a month to have them maintained, and after 5 months my nails were long enough for them to put acrylic on them and make my own nails tough! now they look lovely, I maintain them myself and I hae definitely got out of the habit of biting them!

Reply:well i sometimes bite my nails but when i get a manicure they make your fingernails really nice and clean and then i dont bite them because the nail polish tastes bad and i dont want to ruin them. it may also be because your mouth gets "bored" and it needs something to do. you should probably try chewing gum or sucking on jolly ranchers. pharmacies have this special non biting/sucking fingers nail polish ( i've heard of it be never seen it). i really don't know how well these things will work for you cuz its all in your mind if you want pretty fingers but i got braces so i cant bite my nails anyways.

P.S. i could also tell you that the dirt under your fingernails is actually feces (poo)!! that scares some some people from biting :)
Reply:I used to bite my nails when i was a young buck. I don't know how I stopped, but i stopped. It is a very bas habit. Put it in your head that you will not bite your nails. Everythime yo teeth touches yo finganails, shoot yoself in the arm with an automatic pistol.

Reply:well I have been biting my nail for the whole of my life. Up until about 2 months ago. One day I just decided to grow them and now 2 months later they are long and I get enjoyment out of painting them any colour I want. No reason to numb it, it didn't hurt too bad. Be careful when you get dressed %26amp; when you sleep, snagging a piercing hurts.

Reply:It feels like a slight pinch. Numbing it with ice is pointless.. It doesnt hurt too much.. i mean you feel it but its not painful if you say you have a high pain tolerance.. Also.. eyebrow piercings are prone to infection because your eyebrows are there to keep dust particals out of your eyes.. so just be careful.. also sea salt soaks three times daily.. and since you will most likely have a hoop for the first month or so.. if you find it starting to heal to the hoop use a little bit of tripple antiotic ointment on the hoop n move it around a bit.. Also.. DONT TOUCH IT as much as you want to.. dont do it.

Reply:on the day itself make sure you eat breakfast - it is best to do it in the morning, as the body would deal with it best.

The summer is not great time to get piercing - too much bacteria and polen in the air - these irritants go significantly down with the colder air - as someone else said, eyebrow is quite hard to heal.

Do not try to numb the area, so not worth it. Get the full experience! When you use the salt water, use boiled water which is still very warm (not scaldingly hot) it helps to kill the bacteria. Do not overdo it with the cleaning - twice a day is fine. If you get infection, some people use Tea Tree Oil. to help it turn you can apply Vitamin E - buy capsules and cut them in half, get the oil on a cotton pad and apply. Also helps if you get scar tissue growing.

Good luck and I agree - eyebrows can look very tacky. Get a horizontal above the eyebrow. Think outside of the box!

take a bath with baking soda, it helps keep the tan longer. and also do not wear make up, oils, lotion. It is easy. o and cover your face! like with a towel, or if you dont want to than cover your eyes at least

Start out with little time depending on your skin type (so you don't burn). Wear an accelerator if you want to tan more.

Wow, you're lucky. Most people have the opposite problem and aren't able to tan their legs as fast as the rest of them.

The best thing you can do for your face is use a facial tanning lotion with a bronzer in it. On your chest you can use a lotion with a low tingle in it but only use it on this area, your face is too sensitive for a tingle. Go to your local tanning salon and tell them your problem and the tanning consultant should be able to pick out the correct lotions for your problem.
