I've tried Blistex, I've tried Carmex, I've tried Chapstick (the brand). I've yet to try Burt's Bees, though.
My lips are chapped and peeling and sometimes become really inflamed. The outside of my lips even gets irritated and red, so that it looks like I have clown lips.
I've tried one thing after another. Chapstick worked at first, and then it seemed like I grew immune to it. Then Blistex worked, and then slowly it got worse again. Carmex produced the same results. I even used hydrocortisone so that it would heal, and it worked at first but now.. no.
What can I do to heal my lips?
I don't lick them or peel them.
Chapped lips won't heal!?
If you have dry skin too, I suggest going to the dermatologist. I got this amazing thing called triamcilinlone. When I had extremely chapped lips, I would put a very light layer of it on them, be careful not to get it IN your mouth, then the very next day they would be half way to normal. Then you continure until healed. But LIGHT LIGHT layers.
Chapped lips won't heal!?
i had a split down the middle of my bottom lip caused by dry lips, and that wouldnt go away for about a year. then i found a cream which heals it in a few days. i think its called Cymex, its in a little yellow tube and costs about 拢5
Reply:is there any chance they got sunburned?
i know that happens to me a lot...
another thing you can try is petroleum jelly if you have it...i would put some on before you go to bed and let it set overnight
if not maybe just try a few brands of lip balm, i have found one i really like called alba botanica [on the label it says it's from "avalon natural products"], as i have never been a chapstick person...this stuff i have is pretty thick and smells really good. it also stays on for awhile and works really well.
burt's bees also works, but i'm a bigger fan of my alba.
if they did get sunburned, next time you go out in the sun, put some sort of lip balm on before to protect them so it won't happen again [i know they even make lip balm with sunscreen in it]
hope this helps you out=]
Reply:vaseline
Reply:When my lips get really chapped, I have found that Vicks Vapor Rub works best. It burns at first but it always works!
Reply:bert's bees are amazing! you can get them at any drugstore like walgreens, CVS, or walmart, ect.. they work for me all time! if that doesn't work, then i don't know. You should seee a doctor if your lips don't get better. If its a serious as you say it is, the doctor should have some cream or prescription to give you. Good luck!
Reply:burts bees is the best chap stick to use. it is all natural and it is not tested on animals. if that doesn't work, use Vaseline or Neosporin to help heal your lips. if your lips turn red around the outside of your lip line, that could be a sign of an allergic reaction. also, make sure you constantly have chap stick on your lips so they don't dry out and also put double the amount you usually put on right before bed so they can heal throughout the night. make sure you are drinking enough water too. that will help hydrate your lips as well as the rest of your skin and keep you healthier.
Reply:I wonder why it never happens to me.. I never ever ever use anything on my lips. I am a guy:)
I suggest moving to a hot country. May be its the weather thats doing this to u.
