...cartiladge piercing question...?

i got my cartiladge pierced in November of 2007 and I haven%26#039;t really had any problems with it. my question is: is it possible to form a keloid 7 months after piercing it? well, actually i dont think its a keloid... i was playing with my dog about a week ago and she smacked into my ear right where the cartiladge piercing is and it got irritated for a couple days and then i guess over night last night i woke up this morning and there is a bump on the front part of my ear on the piercing hole. it doesnt really hurt but there%26#039;s like a clear liquid coming out of it and it bleeds when I poke it. It%26#039;s not a keloid right? cuz thats raised scar tissue so i really dont think thats what it is.... maybe its just infected/irritated? Just curious... oh, and don%26#039;t answer with %26quot;Take it out it%26#039;s infected%26quot; or anything like that because that%26#039;s not what I want to hear I just want to know whether or not it could possibly be a keloid.

Doesn%26#039;t sound like it.

Could have got irritated both by the bump and whatever your dog had on him/her when he/she bumped you!

As long as the discharge is clear it doesn%26#039;t sound like an infection so I would just step up the cleansing routine and see how it goes.

If it gets any worse see your doctor

Depending on your nationality...you could have a higher chance of developing a keloid. The darker the skin, the raised level of developing one. If you just bumped it really bad, buy some antibacterial spray and while turning your piercing, spray it all around the area. It should get better within a couple of days. Try not to touch it too much, the germs on your hands could irritate it as well. If you notice a foul smell emitting from it, and it becomes painful to the touch, you might need to consult your docter and/or take it out.
Reply:the only thing you can do at this point is remove the piece out of you cartiladge, cuz it%26#039;s already infectioned, since you said its got blood and a clear liquid, you cant do anything about it but to remove it, and pierce your other cartiladge, its too late, you wont do anyhting but upgrade the infection to a higher level, at that time it will hurt
Reply:it%26#039;s possible, but it can go away if you clean it right

clean it with a sea salt and water mix 2x a day. what you can do is mix warm water and the salt in a cup then soak a cotton ball in it. then squeeze out some of the water and put it on your pirecing (both sides) for 10 minutes. after a few days you should see a difference.

ive also heard cortizone cream works, but i havent tried that one
Reply:It seems to happen when u hit it really hard. So just clean it if the little bump doesn%26#039;t hurt. But if it does hurt when up poke it, squeeze out the the puss and blood. Then clean. It should go away after a few days.
